Time is the factor in whether I’ll participate by sending a postcard. Most days I get very little done that isn’t directly related to my own kiddos. Nice idea, though…
Today is medicine day. I drive 45 minutes to pick up the medicine every month. The Doctor is only able to fill it every 30 days.I hate that we can’t have it called in just like every other medicine that a person takes. I totally get that it is a controlled substance and needs to be written on NCR paper. I just wish I could have aproved for the pharmacy to fill it without the drive to pick it up.
My mom was talking to someone at the beauty shop one day and they said that there is a way to have 3 months sent in to the insurance company. If you have any idea how to get this done – I would love to know how.
We are going to go make a day of it. If your going to drive into Houston it pick it up- you should at least make it fun. After all – it is my sons spring Break and I don’t think that driving in the car to get the medication that he needs – is quiet what he had in mind as a fun thing.
If you have any tips on medication refills – I would love the advice.
I think life sometimes is better living through pharmaceuticals.
My mom has some great stories about my son. This web site has been a blessing. I have had such a great response. Thank you to all that have joined and shared your story with us.
We are going to the new movie that has just come out and I had to get out my sons fighter pilot earphones – that is one of those silly little things that no-one else needs to think about before they go to the show. With a child that has heightened hearing – he can’t go into a movie theater with out some big time -large earphones. Otherwise, the sound is to overwhelming and he can’t enjoy the show. People don’t even seem to mind. It looks a little silly to other people but – it works. It has become a standard in my home that when we are going to a special place – the earphones go to. Can you imagine he even walked around Disney World for 4 days with his earphones on? I have grown to like the pictures. —-There we are all in our matching shirts and him with his headset on. At first I would try to encourage him not to wear them. Then, I realized that we had an outstanding time when he was comfortable.
He actually cries when the sound is to much – it is physically painful for him without them.

Great idea!! I hope you get more info than you could ever need…like that’s going to happen with autistic children.
I think this is a great ides, because no one quite understands what we go through. I have two Autistic boys. It is not easy.
